About Me

Hi, I’m Sam and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor-in-Training (LPC-IT) and the owner of Daylight Counseling.

I created Daylight Counseling with the hope of providing therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and young adults that are struggling with a variety of mental health concerns. I also hope to provide support to families who are looking for additional support in managing their child's concerns.

I was an educator for four years and learned just how important it is for young people to have mental health support. I often saw students in my classrooms struggling to cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and even their own emotions. I knew I wanted to do something more to support these kids, so I went back to school and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2025 with my master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Trauma-Informed Care certification. These experiences have made me more than prepared to work with children and adolescents with a variety of backgrounds and concerns.

During my time in my master's program, I completed an internship with a school-based mental health counseling organization, in which I provided pro-bono therapeutic services to elementary aged students. Once I graduated, I began working with a private practice, in which I gained experience in working with children and adolescents, ages 6-17. I had such great experiences with both positions, but realized that I was still not able to provide the support that I have always envisioned. This is why I created Daylight Counseling.

I aim to provide a collaborative therapeutic environment. I find that children and adolescents are most willing to work with adults when they are in the driver's seat in their course of treatment. I approach therapy as a team. We are working toward a common goal and I am providing tools and helping them navigate their thoughts and behaviors.
